 This week's postings:
To what extent do charters improve student achievement in terms of reading, math, graduation/drop out/push out, and college going?

Students whose teachers held a master's degree performed statistically significantly better in both reading and language arts than students whose teachers did not hold a master's degree.

The good news was that the vast majority of teachers have read the Standards and nearly all like them. The bad news was that about 80 percent of mathematics teachers said the Standards were "pretty much the same" as their current state standards.

A school resource officer did not have probable cause to search a student's backpack and, thus, an air pistol that turned up had to be suppressed in a criminal proceeding, Washington state's highest court has ruled.

By 2050, the population of the planet will be approximately 9.3 to 10 billion people. So we have many more people who will need food, clothing and shelter. It means we need to have more productive foods.
