Introducing VibrantNEO.org

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new website at vibrantneo.org.
In developing our new site we took great care to reflect our approach to the engagement process: Learn, Share, Create and Act. Throughout the site, and on our accompanying Conditions and Trends platform, there are places to:
LEARN about our initiative and some of our early findings;
SHARE your thoughts, suggestions on our findings and what you value most about Northeast Ohio;
CREATE with us as we develop Vibrant NEO 2040; and
ACT with us as a volunteer or participant as well as on your own.
The site includes a new daily blog so you can keep track of our progress and learn about opportunities to get involved. We have also developed interactive engagement tools under the Join Us tab that will get you engaged in providing regional assets, participating in the myVibrantNEO program and to volunteer for upcoming events.
Please visit and subscribe to the calendar page to keep informed about upcoming events! |

Ashtabula County
In Ashtabula County, the board meeting was held at the Spire Institute. Located in Geneva, Ohio, the Institute is one of the largest indoor, multi-sport, training and competition complexes in the world. The board also toured a variety of locations throughout Ashtabula during the morning.

The Star Beacon covered the Ashtabula event with an article by Carl E. Feaather:

Our Sustainable Communities peer grantee from Erie, Pennsylvania also sent representatives to take part in the tours and attend the board meeting. Four members from the Destination Erie initiative attended the events throughout the day.

Where are we going?
Vibrant NEO 2040: A Vision & Framework for Our Future is an opportunity for Northeast Ohio communities to explore the region's long-term development patterns and to think together about what we want our region to be like in the future. The goal of Vibrant NEO 2040 is to create a shared framework that reflects the values, voices and vision of the public. Broad public participation at all stages is essential to building this framework and a legacy for generations to come.
Our work focuses on developing a framework, analysis and products integrating Economic Development, Environments, Housing and Communities, Connections (Transportation) and Quality Connected places.

Northeast Ohio has a story. Help us tell it.
| | Ashtabula County Creek Road Bridge |
You are an expert on your piece of Northeast Ohio. No one else knows your experiences better than you. As part of the Vibrant NEO 2040 initiative, we want to tell stories about what makes Northeast Ohio such an extraordinary place to call home. Through these stories we can all have a better sense of what we need to create a more vibrant, resilient and sustainable present and future Northeast Ohio.
MyVibrantNEO wants you! In fact, it IS you!
What do you love about our region? What needs work? We started the MyVibrantNEO campaign to help connect Northeast Ohioans as part of a conversation about what makes each community great, and what could make each community better.

Add to our growing list of Northeast Ohio Assets
Northeast Ohio is a diverse, vibrant and exciting region, with assets, attributes and points of pride in every community. Those assets may be natural wonders, historic buildings, cultural monuments, arts institutions or an organization that connects diverse segments of the community.

Everyone who lives here has his or her own idea of Northeast Ohio's most important assets. NEOSCC has been working to catalog, map, and quantify the impact of Northeast Ohio's regional and local assets. Because our assets make us what we are as a region, we want to better understand what they are, where they are, and what they mean to us.
And we need your help to do this.
Visit the Asset Map on VibrantNEO.org.
Explore it and then tell us what you think by clicking here. We'd love to hear your own experiences with these assets and how they impact your experience of Northeast Ohio.
You can also use the interactive map to find assets and interesting places throughout the region. The tool will automatically calculate your distance to any site on the list! |
