Energy Executive Panel Discusses Industry
Four of the top executives in the energy industry gathered at the E. J. Ourso College of Business as part of a speakers panel to discuss the state of the industry and career opportunities within.
On hand were Richard Alario, chairman, president, and CEO of Key Energy Services; Cornelius Dupré, chairman and CEO of Dupré Energy Services; Maynard Holt, co-president and head of E&P IB Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. LLC; and Matt McCarroll, president and CEO of Fieldwood Energy.

Trio Inducted Into Hall of Distinction
 The LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business was proud to induct its 2015 Hall of Distinction class - Matt McCarroll, Dale Redman, and Richard Sturlese.
"These men have distinguished themselves and are truly deserving of this honor," said E. J. Ourso College of Business Dean Richard D. White Jr. "Matt, Dale, and Richard have exceeded the criteria we use to determine our Hall of Distinction members, and we are very much looking forward to their special evening."

Economics Professor Examines Rivalries in College Football
Three things have now been statistically proven by LSU Economics Professor Sudipta Sarangi and his cohorts - Boise State is the most hated college football team in the country, the strongest football rivalry between two universities is Central Michigan University versus Western Michigan University and the strongest rivalry in the Southeastern Conference is between the University of Alabama and Auburn University.
LSU is the No. 32 most disliked team in the country and its fiercest rivalry is with the University of Mississippi - that feud is No. 50 in terms of the nation's strongest college football rivalry.

SEI Hosts Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans With Disabilities
 The LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute recently hosted its Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans With Disabilities for the fourth year. The event included a nine-day residency at LSU where participants learned the "nuts and bolts" of business ownership from established entrepreneurs and educators.
There was also a crawfish boil, trip to an LSU baseball game, and a graduation dinner at the LSU Faculty Club on the final night.

LSU Flores MBA Program Remains in Top 50
Despite a drop in the rankings, the LSU Flores MBA Program maintained its spot among the top 50 public institutions in the U.S. News & World Report's "Best Business Schools" ranking for 2016. The program is ranked No. 44 among public institutions and 77 (tie) overall.

Truelson Part of Next Gen of Internal Auditors

Robert Truelson, a recent graduate of the E. J. Ourso College of Business, has been singled out as "The Next Generation of Internal Audit" by The Institute of Internal Auditors.
In an IIA press release, Truelson said that internal auditing departments provide valuable experience because of the exposure that students receive to all aspects of business.
