Louisiana Looking Up 2014 Set for October 23
The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association, in conjunction with the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business, will host Louisiana Looking Up on Thursday, October 23. This annual afternoon event, celebrating its 11th anniversary this year, will be held at the Business Education Complex, home of the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business.

The LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute has announced the list of the 2014 LSU 100: Fastest Growing Tiger Businesses. The ranking of company growth is kept confidential until the honoree luncheon, scheduled for October 24 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Baton Rouge.

UNESCO Report Cites LSU Economics Work
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, or UNESCO, recently released a report titled Teaching and Learning: Achieving Quality for All that cites the work of Naci Mocan and Colin Cannonier. The work cited is "Empowering Women Through Education: Evidence from Sierra Leone."

Jennifer Irwin, an assistant professor in the LSU Rucks Department of Management, recently lent her expertise for the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report article "Uber invasion." The article examines the entrance of transportation networking company Uber into the Baton Rouge market.

JLTR to Publish Cheng, Crumbley Paper
The Journal of Legal Tax Research has accepted for publication Christine Cheng and Larry Crumbley's paper "Avoid Losing a Daubert Challenge: Some Best Practices." Cheng is an assistant professor in accounting whose research interests include executive compensation, incentives and capital markets. Crumbley is a leading researcher in forensic accounting.
