Warren Buffett: The Newest LSU Tiger
     
On March 27-28, 19 students from the LSU Flores MBA Program and the Master of Science in Finance program had the rare opportunity to meet with billionaire investor Warren Buffett. Along with MBA Professor Don Chance, the group traveled to Omaha, Nebraska for a session with the 83-year old Buffett, who Forbes magazine ranks as the second richest person in America.

LSU Flores MBAAA to Hold Spring Training
       
The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association will host its annual Spring Training Event, Wednesday, May 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Distinguished Leaders Lecture Hall of the Business Education Complex. The lecture hall is located on the first floor of The Auditorium as room 1510.

LSU to Offer Financial Planning Programs Online 
         
The E. J. Ourso College of Business, a leader in financial planning education in both the private and public sectors, has announced that it is offering two Financial Planning Certification Programs online beginning May 1. These programs will be tailored to individual student's educational preferences. Both programs will be online. One will be taught live, while the other is self-paced.

Newman Testifies about Minimum Wage Impacts 
          
Bob Newman, chair of the LSU Department of Economics, testified before the House Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations on April 10, 2014. Newman, who has been teaching and conducting research in economics for more than 40 years, was called upon to speak about the likely impacts of an increase in the state's minimum wage.

Executive Education, Marine Industry Partner Offer Leadership Course
      LSU Executive Education, in conjunction with the WorkBoat Professional Series and the commercial marine industry, has developed a program designed to develop strategic leaders for the maritime industry. Dubbed the WorkBoat Strategic Leadership Program, the curriculum consists of a year-long training schedule that involves face-to-face and virtual instruction, along with individual coaching sessions.
