Business College Bash This Saturday
On Saturday, November 23, the E. J. Ourso College of Business will host the Second Annual Business College Bash, welcoming alumni back to campus for a free tailgate party prior to the Tigers kickoff with Texas A&M. Inaugural Barnidge Fellowships Awarded to PhDs
The inaugural Barnidge Fellowships have been awarded to three PhD students from the E. J. Ourso College of Business--Grace Arnold, Dung "Yom" Bui and Erik Taylor. Alumnus John Barnidge established the fellowship to enhance PhD stipends by $5,000 for incoming PhD students and to attract top students to the college's programs.

LSUPAI Receives $1.2 Million Research Grant
The LSU Public Administration Institute recently received a $1.2 million research grant from the Louisiana Housing Corporation for a study of housing needs in Louisiana. Roy Heidelberg, an assistant professor in LSUPAI, is the principal investigator, and LSUPAI Director Jim Richardson is the study's co-investigator. LSUPAI will issue its first report June 30, 2014.

Balhoff Featured in Journal of Accountancy
Bill Balhoff, managing director and chief executive officer of Postlethwaite & Netterville, was profiled in the Journal of Accountancy article "Competitive advantage." The American Institute of CPAs inaugurated Balhoff as its 101st chairman on October 22, 2013, and he launched his term with a speech focused on quality as a hallmark of the profession.

Executive Education Graduates Fall EDP Class
Fourteen high-level leaders comprised the fall 2013 class of LSU Executive Education's Executive Development Program. The group graduated during a luncheon and ceremony after taking part in the 10-day program, which serves as a resource to any organization searching for a way to transform its managers into strong and effective leaders.
