LSU Flores MBA Program Tops for Low Debt

The LSU Flores MBA Program's full-time track was recently named by U.S. News and World Report as having the lowest debt load upon students after graduation. Graduates owed an average of $8,181 following the two-year program. The publication calculated the average MBA program student debt incurred by 2012 graduates to be $49,619 among the top 100.

Google Director of Legal is LLU Keynote

Louisiana Looking Up, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, will feature Google Director of Legal Halimah DeLaine Prado as keynote speaker. Cohosted by the LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association and the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business, Louisiana Looking Up will be held at the Business Education Complex on the afternoon of Thursday, September 12.

AMJ Accepts Management Professor's Paper

Jennifer Irwin, an assistant professor in the Rucks Department of Management, co-authored a paper that the Academy of Management Journal recently accepted for publication. The paper explores the interaction between an occupation's identity and how technology affects it. It was co-authored with University of Oregon Assistant Professor Andrew Nelson.

LSUCIA Alumnus Receives 2013 Sawyer Award

Douglas Secrest, an accounting alumnus of the E. J. Ourso College and the LSU Center for Internal Auditing program, was named by the Institute of Internal Auditors Research Foundation as the 2013 Esther R. Sawyer Research Award winner. The award was presented at the IIA International Conference on July 15. Secrest earned his degree last May.

Fall is Upon Us Once More

Fall is upon us once more. As we welcome new freshmen and welcome upperclassmen back to campus, it is important to remind everyone why the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business is so very special. Our seniors will soon graduate and join an elite group-thousands of our alumni who compete and excel in the business world, yet never forgetting the education, skills, and experiences they obtained here. Without the continued support of our alumni, we cannot do our job.
