Business College Bash Scheduled for November The College of Business has announced it will hold its second annual Business College Bash on Saturday, November 23, 2013, the same day the Tigers are scheduled to play Texas A&M. The college will host the event at the Business Education Complex, with the festivities beginning four and a half hours prior to kickoff and ending one hour prior to the start of the game. |
Louisiana Looking Up Scheduled for September
The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association, in conjunction with the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business, will host Louisiana Looking Up on Thursday, September 12, 2013. This annual afternoon event, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, will feature prominent business speakers from around the country. Premier sponsors for 2013 are Talk 107.3 FM and Entergy.

JAIS Awards Hirshheim 2012 Best Paper Award
Rudolf Hirschheim, professor of Information Systems, was recently awarded the 2012 Best Paper Award by the Journal of the Association of Information Systems. Hirschheim's paper, "A Glorious and Not-So-Short History of the Information Systems Field," covers the more than 40-year history of the information systems discipline.

EDB Retention and Expansion Course in August
LSU Executive Education will offer a business retention and expansion course for economic development in August 13-14. This is a core course in the Certified Louisiana Economic Developer certification series. Students will learn how to assess a business environment, what the current business issues are, and emerging trends.

Professor's Hybrid Vehicle Study Published
 Don Chance, professor in the Department of Finance, recently co-wrote an article published in the book Energy Finance and Economics: Analysis and Valuation, Risk Management, and the Future of Energy. The article, "Financial Analysis of the Purchase of a Hybrid Consumer Vehicle," examines the benefits and costs of 15 vehicles that exist in both hybrid and standard combustion versions.
