Second Annual Jazz & Cocktails July 25

Jazz & CocktailsThe LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business and the LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association will cohost Jazz & Cocktails again. Scheduled for Thursday, July 25, the event will be held on the first floor of The Rotunda in the Business Education Complex, located on Nicholson Drive Extension. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and last until 8:00 p.m. All LSU MBA are invited.

Deville Named 2013 Influential Woman

Karen DevilleKaren Deville, senior director of the Office of Advancement for the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business, has been named among the 2013 Influential Women in Business by The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report. The list features nine successful businesswomen from varying industries in the Baton Rouge area. Deville was honored at a luncheon held June 7.

Three LSUCIA Alumni Featured in Top 20

    

LSU CIAThe Institute of Internal Auditors has named three LSU Center for Internal Auditing alumni to its Top 20 Auditors Under 30 list for 2013. Rachel Bond, Jesse Cohen and Brian Kistler, were each selected by the organization after recommendations from colleagues and mentors. IIA was established in 1941, and is an international professional association.

Jenny AmaraneniJenny Amaraneni, co-founder of SOLO Eyewear, was recently featured in a video interview on Forbes.com. She sat down to discuss the genesis of the eyewear line and its mission to provide eyewear to those in need, with an estimated 1 billion people worldwide who do not have access to eye care. Amaraneni earned her bachelor's in 2007.

Accounting Master's Students Explore Brazil
Accounting Master's in Brazil 
One of the many opportunities open to LSU E. J. Ourso College students is the ability to study abroad. This past semester, the Department of Accounting became the latest to provide students such an opportunity by giving those in its master's programs the chance to spend more than a week in Brazil.
