Exec Ed Announces Inaugural Symposium
  
Executive Education Logo ButtonLSU Executive Education is pleased to announce its inaugural Executive Excellence Symposium, which is scheduled to be held Friday, March 15, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Business Education Complex. Michael Rogers, founder of the consultancy group Practical Futrust and columnist for MSNBC, will be the featured speaker.

Shell to Sponsor Welcome Back Mixer

Shell will sponsor a jambalaya mixer as a way to say "welcome back" for LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business students that the college will host in The Rotunda of the Business Education Complex on Thursday, January 17, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The first 500 attendees will receive free jambalaya and a drink.

 

MIT Publishes Hirschheim Article

 

Hirschheim Headshot Constant ContactThe MIT Sloan Management Review's recently published winter 2013 issue features an article co-written by Ourso Family Distinguished Professor of Information Systems Rudy Hirschheim. Titled "Managing the Human Cloud," the article was co-written with Evgeny Kaganer, Erran Carmel and Timothy Olsen.

NOCCJ Presents Ogden With Weiss Award

  

Roger Ogden Roger Ogden, alumnus and member of the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business Dean's Advisory Council, was one of four recipients of the Weiss Award. The New Orleans Council for Community and Justice held the 55th annual presentation of the awards December 6, 2012, honoring exceptional civic and humanitarian contributions.

Dick WhiteWelcome to a new semester! I hope that, like me, you and yours had a happy holiday.

 

I want to update you on several items as we roll into the start of another great year.

 

LSU received a mid-year $3.4 million budget cut from the state. Fortunately, additional tuition revenue from increased enrollment (the largest freshman class in university history) has offset the cuts.
