Is Manufacturing Dead?
In this edition of 5 Minutes for Business, Hendrik Brakel, Senior Director, Economic, Financial and Tax Policy, looks at the state of the manufacturing sector in Canada. For years, Canada's manufacturing sector has been described as ailing, depressing, in crisis, faltering and on a road to nowwhere. Even the Bank of Canada has described manufacturing as disappointing, maninly because of the decline in employment and still modest gains in investment. Should we throw in the towel and refocus on efforts on exporting pop stars like Justin Bieber and Drake?

Home Care Assistance
|

Home Care Assistance is a private, non-medical, home care company whose mission is to "Change the Way the World Ages". We provide older adults with quality care that enables them to live happier, healthier, more independent lives at home by providing assistance with showering/bathing, dressing, toileting, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, medication reminders, appointment accompaniment and companionship.
What makes us different from other companies is that we go beyond just basic care, we provide lifestyle care. What this means is that we train our caregivers to take a holistic approach to care and look after the entire well-being of our Clients. We call this the Balanced Care Method
This method covers areas such as nutrition, physical exercise, mental stimulation, social interaction and calmness. All of these factors have been proven to be integral in not just prolonging our Client's lives but also in improving their quality of living and giving them a sense of purpose. In addition, we have highly qualified, dedicated case managers, who are either nurses or social workers, and they provide ongoing supervision of the care of all our Clients and also serve as their advocate and a resource for their family members.
It is the caliber of our caregivers, the extent of ongoing case management we provide, our 24/7 availability and the holistic approach to care that truly sets us apart and has enabled us to make a difference.
