Remembrance Day

On November 11th the SSWR Chamber of Commerce laid a wreath at the Remembrance Day Service held at the White Rock Cenotaph in honouring the memory and appreciation of our veterans in service to Canada.

The Chamber is pleased to announce and welcome its new Board of Directors for 2016.  The new Board was installed at the Chamber's AGM on November 3, 2015 at the Rotary Field House.

Our Chamber would not exist without the leadership provided by our Board of Directors.  Each member brings with them a wealth of experience and is committed to working together in the best interests of the organization.

We are once again asking for donations (gift certificates, giftware, liquor or donate your own basket) for the raffle at the  popular Annual  'Taste of the Peninsula'.  It is such a great 'goodwill' event, as it supports the Sources Community Resource Centre's local Food Bank.  Last year we raised over $1000.00 for our local food bank; this year our goal is to meet or exceed that amount.  Thank you for your support.

MPB Construction is proud to be part of the Greater Vancouver Home Builder's Association (GVHBA) who is now launching their 20th Annual Coats for Kids Campaign.
 
Once again we are letting all of our friends and neighbours know that we will be serving as a drop off location and collecting items for this worthy event.
 
Last year the response to Coats for Kids was heartwarming as Lower Mainland residents donated more than 4000 coats, scarves, gloves, blankets and new unwrapped toys and gifts for distribution to children, teenagers and adults.
 
This year Coats for Kids will run for 20 days from Friday November 13th to Wednesday December 2, 2015.
 
This year there is a specific need for; "COATS & JACKETS FOR TWEENS AND TEENS: AGES 12-18 YEARS OLD".
 
If you have good, clean, new & gently used items such as coats, hoodies, scarves, mittens, blankets, toques, clothing and toys we would be pleased to receive your donations at our South Surrey showroom.
 
We will gladly accept your donations from November 13th to December 2th and deliver them to the Surrey Christmas Bureau by Friday, December 4th on your behalf.
 
We are located at #62-15515 24 Ave Surrey, BC and are open Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30pm.
