Unity Church - A Caring CommUnity

When we care for one another as a community, we are truly walking in the "ways of truth and affection" and creating a connected community of individuals in a continuous feedback loop of giving and receiving. Imagine a community where needs are recognized, acknowledged, and supported.

Our Caring CommUnity: Are you aware there is a committee available here at Unity Church that attempts to match up short term needs of members of our congregation with services, generously offered by other members?

Examples of some of the services we can coordinate include: check-in calls or visits and hospital visits; meals during a time of illness/injury or family events such as births and deaths; rides to local medical appointment, church services and events, and other community events; home help, such as local errands, moving, emergency shoveling or minor repairs; emergency or last minute child care.

If you have a short term need, or know of someone in our community who does, or have any questions, please contact one of us:
Marie Pires: text or call 774-274-3893
Edie Marsden: call 508-230-9964
Donna Hobart: call 508-588-6383

Also, please consider joining our list of members who have generously signed up to provide one or more of the services the committee coordinates, or one you would like to provide that we have not identified. Be assured, we would not be calling you every week or even every month. We are aware there is a lot of caring help that goes on quietly in our community, as it should be. If you could also help out just once a year through our Caring CommUnity committee, your generosity would reach an even wider circle of members.

 News from Carolyn McCafferty

Greetings Family & Friends,

Some of you should have gotten an email from WordPress inviting you to my blog...I finally have it up and running.  I'm still having trouble getting my photos to post, but I'll figure it out.

There are now 4 postings as the journal I've been keeping is being edited and uploaded. In advance, please excuse spelling and grammar errors...my goal is to share and one or two proof reads is my limit for time and attention at this point. The blog doesn't send an email letting you know I've added to it.  Since I have several journal entries to post, that's a good thing since I'm going to try to post every few days to catch up.

So here's the link. Please share comments.  This isn't just a way for me to connect to you, but I hope it's a way for you to connect with me as well. (Email and text messages are also most welcome!)

Updates from Fellowship

Everyone is a Greeter:
Although we schedule two people to be greeters for every Sunday service, we hope that everyone present considers themselves an integral part of our greeting team.  Remember to say hello to visitors and offer to show them the way to Social Hour. Social hour can be as intriguing as our worship service and we want to share that experience also.

Update your calendar for these events :
December 5, 2015, 1 pm in Parish Hall, Cookie Baking and Sanctuary Decorating.
December 12, 2015, 6 pm in Parish Hall, Adult Holiday Celebration.

Name Tags:   If you have never had a name tag and would like one, please mention it to a Greeter. If you forget your name tag, we will have blank ones at the back of the sanctuary that you may use occasionally.

Shopping at Amazon? Start at Unity homepage first.

Do you shop on Amazon.com? Be sure to visit Amazon through Unity's homepage first. Every time you use the Amazon widget, Unity Church receives up to 8.5% of what you've spent at Amazon! During this crazy shopping season, or any other time of the year, 8.5% can add up to a lot for Unity!

Heat for your meeting

As a reminder, to be sure you get heat for your meeting; please call or email Gail Bruno, our Office Manager, (508-238-6373) email: office@unity-church.com, a week before the meeting, so she can put it on the Master Church Calendar. Please specify your group name, which rooms are needed and the start and end time of the meeting. Buildings and Grounds schedules the heaters according to events on that calendar. If you have any questions about the lights, heat, or other Buildings and Grounds issues, call or email Ernie Cohen (508-339-5658)
