September Songs
On Wednesday, September 24th at 12:15 p.m., in the sanctuary at Unity Church, Richard Hill plays the 1875 Hook and Hastings organ in a program that includes:
  • "September Songs", works of Brockton composer Henry M. Dunham along with pieces by Sir Edward Elgar,  Robert Elmore, Arthur Foote and Jean Langlais.

Richard Hill is in his 38th year as organist and music director at Unity Church.  He performs frequently in Unity Church on the fourth Wednesday of each month.

The program is free and open to the public. Unity Church is handicapped accessible with parking behind the church.

For further information, please call 508-238-6081.

This Saturday September 27 -
8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There is still time to clean out your closets and bring items to the church from 4 - 7 p.m. on
  • Thursday, September 25, or
  • Friday, September 26
Many hands can make this work light. Please let Audrey Davies or Chris Pender know if you can help on any of the above days.

PLEASE - no TVs, computer monitors, bed frames or anything else that we would need to pay to get rid of if it doesn't sell.

More than a Cemetery
by Cheryl Brigante

I had a hankering to go for a walk, someplace safe, quiet, inspirational, and with few people around.

I chose the Village Cemetery behind Unity Church.

Much to my surprise, I found the box in this photo. The Friends of Easton Public Gardens, have created a Go Wild box in the cemetery complete with information about the cemetery, and who and what you'll find there and a journal to record your findings.

It is a nice place to visit. Here are other Go Wild sites.

UCAN Colorform Logo 03Dec2012New Beginnings for UCAN!

Unity Church Aiding Neighbors (UCAN) has a rich history at Unity Church. While this program has been inactive in recent history, members and friends of Unity Church have been active and involved in social justice programs. We have restarted UCAN to provide organization to the social justice projects occurring at Unity Church, and to support the members and friends of Unity Church who have ideas and passions about social action.

On Sunday, September 21st, Rev. Kristin blessed the backpacks of the children of Unity Church, and UCAN held a backpack collection to benefit School on Wheels of Massachusetts (SOWMA). SOWMA provides support to children impacted by homelessness with a goal to educate kids, empower families, and end homelessness one child at a time.

Thank you for donating backpacks and money to SOWMA. Here's more information about becoming a tutor or mentor for SOWMA and other volunteering opportunities.

For questions about UCAN, please contact Melanie Willis D'Aiello. For questions about SOWMA, please contact Jenn Gold.

numbers-toy.jpgChurch Nursery Needs Toys
Unity Church has three terrific child care workers, Brittany, Emma and Taylor, who support the Unity Church Nursery every Sunday, and at meetings and special events.

To provide interactive care, our caregivers need some new toys to engage and play with the kids. We are hoping Unity Church can help by making donations to the Nursery.

We are looking for toys in good repair and suitable for children 3 years and under. Please not toys that could be a choking hazard, such as small Legos, Lincoln logs, etc.

Donation can be brought to Holly House Nursery Room any Sunday. If you run out of time to bring them before church, we can also accept toys in Parish Hall at Coffee Hour.

Any questions, please contact Carolyn McCafferty.
