Greetings, neighbors!

Spring is in full swing, and that means everyone is coming out of hibernation. Our landscaping company will be out and about, neighbors will be walking and jogging, and community events will start happening.

Spring events

First up, clean out your closets for the Bay Hills Spring Yard Sale on Saturday, April 25, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Whatever you don't sell, toss in the dumpsters provided by the county. They will be available in the pool parking lot from noon Wednesday, April 29 to 8 a.m. Friday, May 1.

Save the date for the community end-of-school party on Friday, June 19. Keep a lookout in your inbox  and for fliers for an invitation with more details.

Shopping center update

Bob Cepek and I met with the county liaison about the Rite Aid, and we don't expect a change. However, there have been new developments regarding the grocery store tenant. I sent an email last week, but here is a recap for anyone who missed it:

The developer originally had six extra parking spaces to be compliant with the county. The new tenant wants to add ten parking spaces. Many people in the neighborhood, including myself, are very concerned about safety and traffic flow. We are working with the county and will keep you updated with emails as needed. If you'd like to learn more or discuss the issue, come to the public meeting on Tuesday, April 7, 6 p.m. at Broadneck Community Library.

Meeting
Bay Hills Plaza Public Meeting
Learn about parking and potential grocery store tenant

On Tuesday, April 7, at 6 p.m., the Bay Hills Plaza developer will hold a public meeting at the Broadneck Community Library (1275 Green Holly Dr., Annapolis, MD 21409) regarding the Rite Aid and potential grocery store tenant in Bay Hills Plaza

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the new tenant who wants to add an additional ten parking spaces from the landscape buffers, so a modification to the landscape standards will be needed.

The Rite Aid was approved based on the parking study and the needs of the tenants. That left the project being approved with six extra parking spaces.  Below is the map that shows 89 parking spaces behind the shopping center that they have created to make this possible.
