Greetings, neighbors!

We had a productive first board meeting of the year in January. We discussed our goals and wish list for 2015, including an assessment of the property Bay Hills owns.

We own two areas that are not easily accessible but that could be put to good use. We are looking into having those lots assessed so we can hopefully make them usable spaces such as athletic fields. If you want to learn more or have ideas on what we can do with those spaces, please come to a board meeting.

This year, we will continue to improve our assets, including the pavilion lawn, tennis courts, and basketball courts.

We also discussed awarding a "Home of the Month" to be announced in each Beacon. We will be discussing criteria at the February board meeting and hope to choose the first home for the April issue, just in time for spring.

BHCA Resale Packets

If you are selling a home in the community, please contact Bay West Management to obtain a resale packet. The packet contains the community's by-laws, covenants, and community regulations. The packet should be furnished to the buyer prior to the property sale closing. Bay West will confirm if there is any balance due on the homeowner's account before releasing the packet.

Sellers are expected to clear their BHCA account prior to closing on a home sale. The title company representing the buyer is required by law to research obligations related to a property. These obligations include homeowner association memberships, outstanding dues, liens, etc. To request a resale packet, contact Michelle Boss or Ralph Hudson at Bay West: 410-897-0207.

Broadneck Peninsula Trail Coming to Bay Hills
To extend from library to shopping center

The Broadneck Peninsula Trail will extend the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail nine miles from Severna Park to Sandy Point State Park. Phase One will extend it from Green Holly Road to Cape St. Claire Road. Stops will include the Broadneck Library, Broadneck High School, Cape St. Claire Elementary School, the Andy Smith Equestrian Center, and Broadneck Park, as well as local churches and neighboring communities.

The section between the Broadneck Library and Bay Hills Shopping Center is expected to begin construction late this spring. The entire project should take about six months to complete.

The project is a partnership of local, state and federal government, including the State Highway Administration and the Friends.
