Welcome!

Greetings, neighbors.

Thanks to all who participated in the spring yard sale. What great weather! I hope everyone had a successful day.

Facilities Updates
We finally have some news about the sinkholes at the basketball courts.  The county has approved plans and funding to replace the entire drainage pipe system and rebuild the feeder system by the pond. It's going to be a rather large project. They are trying to coordinate this during the next summer or two when there are no school buses. When this starts depends on the permit process. It could be months or up to two years before it gets done.

We painted the tables in the pavilion and adjusted the timer so the lights come on when it gets dark.

Just a reminder that as you consider putting in a fence this season, consider the covenants:

Covenants Excerpt
6. No building or other structure shall be erected, converted, permitted, maintained or operated on any lot for any purpose other than a single-family residential use; only one such structure shall be permitted on each lot, and no outbuilding or detached garage whatever shall be permitted in connection therewith, unless, prior to construction thereof, and at the expense of the lot owner, construction plans and specifications and a plan showing the location of the structure have been submitted to and approved by an architect and committee as selected and designated by the Owner from time to time, as to, but not limited to, quality of workmanship and material, harmony of external design and finish material, including paint colors, with existing structures and as to location with respect to topography and finish grade elevation. No fence or wall shall be erected, placed or altered on any lot unless the plans therefore are similarly submitted to and approved by said architect. Architect committee's approval or disapproval as required in these covenants shall be in writing and shall be rendered within thirty (30) days after plans and specifications have been submitted to him. Failure by the architect to approve or disapprove within such 30 day period shall be construed as approval and full compliance with the requirements of the paragraph.

Bay Hills Community Association Meeting

Tues., May 13, 7:30 p.m.

The Bay Hills Community Association will hold the next meeting on Tuesday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. at O'Loughlin's. Please note that we changed the date to the second Tuesday of the month for this month only due to scheduling conflicts.

Bay Hills Book Club

No book club information was submitted for this issue. For more information, contact Maureen Lamson at maureenlamson@hotmail.com.

Recycling in Arnold Park
The county will provide dumpsters in Bay Hills this October, but if you need to get rid of stuff now, try the dumpsters located in Arnold Park. You can bring anything you would normally put in your at-home recycling container, and it saves you from having to keep cardboard boxes piled up--or anything else that fills the container quickly. For more information, visit recyclemoreoften.com. Click on "Recycling Information," then "Parks."

Boy Scouts to Put Up "Keep Kids Alive Drive 25" Signs
A Boy Scout troop will be putting up "Keep Kids Alive Drive 25" signs in the neighborhood as a reminder that driving under 25 mph saves lives. We are waiting for the weather to clear up before setting a date. We will send a notice out once the date has been determined. To learn more about the campaign, click here.

Welcome New Residents!

If you are new or have a new neighbor, we would like to drop off a welcome bag from the Bay Hills Community Association. Additionally, if you have a business, we would be happy to include one of your business cards in the welcome bag. Please contact Diane Ireland at 410-626-7130.

BHCA Resale Packets

If you are selling a home in the community, please contact Bay West Management to obtain a resale packet. The packet contains the community's by-laws, covenants, and community regulations. The packet should be furnished to the buyer prior to the property sale closing. Bay West will confirm if there is any balance due on the homeowner's account before releasing the packet.

Sellers are expected to clear their BHCA account prior to closing on a home sale. The title company representing the buyer is required by law to research obligations related to a property. These obligations include homeowner association memberships, outstanding dues, liens, etc. To request a resale packet, contact Michelle Boss or Ralph Hudson at Bay West: 410-897-0207.
