Evidence Update:

Rehabilitation Benefits for

Breast Cancer Patients

A study was recently done that examined if an early physical rehabilitation program can help with functional improvements of the shoulder, increased and/or decreased pain, and improvements and/or worsening of quality of life after surgery.

More about the study.

In celebration of Mother's Day, our greeting this month comes from the child of one of our patients...

My life has changed a lot now that my Mom doesn't have to have breast cancer treatment. She's been able to take me places for birthday parties, tennis practice and restaurants. Before it wasn't like this at all. She would have chemo and she'd be really tired. I remember one week where I had to go to people's houses every day of the week because she was so tired. Not being with her felt like being left out of a team. It's like two peas in a pod - the way me and my Mom stick together. If you don't have a Mom you don't have anything. I felt so happy you couldn't even imagine because of the help my mom got from TurningPoint.

Patient Perspective:  Lynn Wyatt

As I write this story, I mark my one year anniversary of being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. I thought I had actually been "lucky". I had the nerve to tell most people that "my experience with breast cancer was a fairly easy one. I had a good prognosis". Hrmph.

This time last year I was sitting in a tailgate chair, outside, tailgating at our weekly neighborhood playgroup. I was in pain. I'd had months of lower back pain and my neck refused to move in any direction. More about Lynn's experience and TurningPoint's role in her path back to an active life.
