The recent return of autumn's cool air reminds us to take additional precautions while driving. With children back in school and parents rushing to get to soccer practice, rushing to the football game, and rushing off to all of the upcoming fall festivities, there are lots of reasons to take extra care.
Here at Frisco Automotive, we welcome it all and would like to remind you
to take extra caution so you are safe on the roads.
Keep a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you in case they need to make a quick stop. Also, remember to keep your windshield leaf-free to avoid wet leaves getting stuck under the windshield wiper blades.
Check out our tips endorsed by the Frisco Police Department's Crime and Safety division on taking the Don't Text and Drive pledge, along with our Shocktober Special below.
So drive safely and defensively and have a happy autumn!
Happy Travels!

Shocks and Struts:
Your vehicle's suspension system
Some vehicles have shocks, some have struts and some have both. Shocks are part of the overall suspension, while a strut is a complete suspension assembly, and they perform two functions. They dampen spring oscillation, and aid in ride control. The springs in your car actually absorb road shocks (not the shock absorbers), while the shock absorber's function is to dampen the bouncing spring, aiding in ride control by keeping the tires down on the road after hitting a bump. This allows for ease of cornering and handling. So how do you know if you need new shocks or struts? Here is what you look for:
- Vehicle rolls or sways on turns
- Front end dives when braking
- Rear end squats when accelerating
- Vehicle bounces or slides sideways on a winding, rough road
- Vehicle "bottoms out" (with a thump) on bumps And now, for the month of October, buy three Shocks or Struts and GET ONE FREE! see our coupon below for details
Proper functioning of these parts are essential to the handling and cornering of your vehicle, and a critical part of establishing safe driving conditions. If you have questions about your vehicle's suspension system, feel free to contact us at Frisco Automotive. We know what to look for to keep you on the road! (972) 335-9823
