Meridian Bridge and Plaza
What is the #1 reason people visit you or what sets you apart from other attractions? The only double-deck bridge, spanning a major United States River, which was originally built with all private money - no government funding was used, and now can be enjoyed by pedestrian traffic.

What is your greatest accomplishment so far?  Ninety years of operation for both vehicles and now pedestrian traffic.

What's one event you host that visitors and the community should attend?  Meridian en Blanc in July and sponsored by the Yankton Area Arts Association.

Putting an Obamacare Repeal on the President's Desk
A repeal of major portions of Obamacare is now headed to the President's desk for his signature or veto.

Every single health care plan on the exchange in South Dakota saw a double-digit rate increase this year - every single plan. It's just too expensive and the President's health care law fundamentally failed to do anything to change that. Instead, Obamacare issued top-down mandates to ensure more people would foot an even larger bill.

I understand it's not enough just to repeal Obamacare. Our health care system is broken. But there is a better way. What if you could create competition by letting people purchase insurance across state lines? Or if small businesses would be allowed to pool together to purchase more affordable coverage? What if you got a tax break for purchasing insurance, rather than a tax penalty if you didn't? There is an alternative - a conservative, patient-centered alternative.
