Dakota Territorial Museum
What is your greatest accomplishment so far? The preservation and rehabilitation of the Mead Building on the former Human Services Center campus. This building is the future home of the Dakota Territorial Museum, Mead Cultural Education Center, and Yankton College Alumni Offices.

Does it cost to go to your business? Admission to the Museum is FREE, but donations are gladly accepted.

What is one or two things about your attraction that people in the community may not realize? We encourage groups, especially school groups to call us and make arrangements for tours. So many times we hear that people didn't even realize we were still here. Many people don't realize all the wonderful things we have here at the museum. Many items are over 100 years old and give us just a glimpse of what life was like for those who came before us.

Members on

Top Mistakes Small Businesses Make
December Tip:
MISTAKE: Not Participating in Your Local Community

Are you operating as an island or are you part of the community? Many groups can't get past personal issues from a previous wrong to work together towards a common goal. What is your community? It can be a club, association, community - nothing hurts it more than lack of teamwork and joint vision.

Everyone makes mistakes but by setting aside differences and working together great things can happen for your business and those around you.

Think Miracle on 34th Street when Macy's started sending customers to other stores....

This month's "mistake" was brought to you as part of a continuing series that the Chamber is posting regarding top mistakes and marketing tips for small businesses.
