The YankTON Challenge kicks off January 4, 2016 sign up your team NOW (the deadline is 12/1/15)! This 12 week program is a fun way for businesses to create a healthier workforce and the committee has some great new events planned.

Kickoff Wellness Expo - Monday, January 4, 2016 Avera Pavilion, 501 Summit from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Free for all participants of the Challenge - visit health and wellness booths, register for door prizes, hear motivational speakers.

12 Week Challenge - 1st Weigh-in - Monday, January 4, 2106;

Final Weigh-in - Monday, March 21, 2016; Celebration Event - Friday, April 1, 2016

Note - Participation fee is based on total number of participants per team and not according to business size. The fees below are for businesses who did not select this option in their bundled membership package.

11-30 Participants = $85

Wellmark Foundation Community Kickstarter Grant

Yielded 22 South Dakota Grant Recipients

Public voting helped to select grants for communities to receive up to $10,000, and Yankton was one of the communities that had a great voting turnout!

"It was clear from online voting that these communities are very passionate about their projects and the impact they will have now and for future generations," said Stephanie Perry, The Wellmark Foundation. "These grants empower them to continue improving upon the health and well-being of their communities for years to come."

The final projects were chosen from more than 130 entries, because they focused on making communities more active or improving access to healthy foods. The public also had the chance to weigh in on their favorite projects. More than 57,000 votes were received during the two week voting period that ended on Oct. 7.

Riverside Park Boundless Play Area, is the area in our community that received the $10,000 grant!

The Chamber's new Members Only Business Education Video Library is coming at the end of November. Watch for more information!

What is one thing about your attraction that people in the community may not realize you have? Please look for a RiverWalk brochure, including a map of sculptures, at the Yankton CVB, South Dakota Magazine and downtown businesses.

What is the #1 reason people visit you or what sets you apart from other attractions? We change our sculptures every May so there is always fresh and fun art on the streets.
