Just in case you missed it! 3 Yankton Businesses Turn Away Money - why? Last week we had a consumer call who received Chamber Dollars from their employers. They went to three businesses to spend them and at each, the person ringing them up said they would not take them. The Chamber of Commerce sells over $200,000 annually in Chamber Dollars to employers and consumers who want to keep the spending local yet we have businesses who do not thoroughly train all employees on the process of handling them. $9,000 alone will be circulating shortly from the Shop Local Fundraising winners announced in this newsletter. On November 29 we will be handing out another $4,000 to holiday shoppers. By not training your employees, businesses are turning away sales as well as leaving a bad taste in the mouth of the consumers we are trying to educate about the importance of shopping local. Every business should have this process sheet located on or near their registers to remind employees how to process Chamber Dollars. We know it's hard to stay on top of everything you have going on in your business but this one is costing you sales and good will by not keeping all employees informed.
Please review with your staff and post where everyone can reference. For more information, call the Chamber at 665-3636.Download Process Sheet here or click on the picture to the left...
