8 Limbs  I  Letter from the Founder

Twenty years ago on this date I was driving home from a road trip to Wyoming. I was twenty-five and I had just fallen in love with yoga.

That snowy night, between Idaho and the Cascades, my traveling partner asked me a question that altered the course of my life. The question was "If you could open a business what would it be?" and the answer, without a second thought, and out of thin air, was "a yoga studio."

Nine month later, 8 Limbs Yoga Center opened on Capitol Hill above Brocklind's Formalwear. It was impulsive, it was audacious, but I can't say I regret it.

This New Year's Day my question to you is: "If you could do anything, what would it be?"
Take some time today to think big; New Year's questions can change futures!

See below for some wonderful workshops to ring in the New Year. Register online, all are close to if full already. I'll also have a special New Year focus when I sub on Saturday at 4:30pm at 8 Limbs Phinney Ridge. I hope to see some of you then.

NEW! - Community Giving Partnership with Street Yoga
Everyone deserves access to the healing benefits that yoga and mindfulness offer. Once a young person learns how to focus their breath or feel safe in their bodies, we have empowered them with a skill set they can draw on for the rest of their lives. A toolkit for becoming centered, calm, in control, responsive instead of reactionary and with a sense of their individual purpose and inherent alive-ness. This is something that no one can ever take away from them no matter how transient or chaotic their life is, their economic status, family history, or their educational or career opportunities.
