Fall Hours

We will remain open on a daily basis from 8:30 - 5:00 through September, but may step away on occasion to tend to other business.  We recommend you call ahead, so we can be sure someone will be onsite to serve you.

Community Conservation Day

The Community Conservation Day is more than a fun paddle on Ayers Creek. It's more than local steamed crabs and fried chicken. The event serves to honor the volunteers who contribute their time and skills to the Lower Shore Land Trust throughout the year. Volunteers provide the foundation for the ongoing stewardship of conservation easements and support for educational events.

The 4th annual Community Conservation Day takes place at  Ayers Creek Adventures on Saturday, September 13, from 9 am - 1 pm. The event is sponsored by the Lower Shore Land Trust and tickets are $20. Activities include a guided tour of the scenic creek at 9 am or participants may enjoy a self-guided paddle.
Life on the Creek!

We would like to thank all of you for your support and for helping to make 2014 our best season ever.  We enjoyed perfect paddling weather all summer and had a great time paddling with friends old and new.

If you have paddled Ayers Creek, you are sure to have been entertained by the multitude of fish leaping from the water and occasionally even landing in a boat. One of the fish you are likely to have spotted or caught is a mullet.

There are multiple species of mullet.  The small mullet here in the creek are white mullet.  They are also referred to as finger mullet.  Mullet are easy to spot both jumping out of the water individually or boiling the water in schools along the edges of the creek.

The mullet are a popular bait fish.  Fisherman use casting nets to catch the mullet.  Which are then used as bait to catch a variety of larger fish.

Mullet typically forage around the plants and grasses in shallow coastal waters.  They consume algae, plant detritus, small larvae, and insects.  The mullet roam from marine coastal into the low salinity brackish and fresh waters along the bay and tidal creeks.

Pink Paddle

We are very excited to be hosting the 5th Annual Pink Paddle on Saturday September 27th.  The pink paddle has raised $13,000 over the past 4 years in support of breast cancer services and research.

Dress in your favorite pink attire or creative costume and join Ayers Creek Adventures for a morning paddle followed by an afternoon full of food, fun, and music.  A new twist on this year's paddle includes a search for the Pink Rubber Ducks. Find one of the 6 hidden ducks and win a special pink prize.

Registration is $40 if using Ayers Creek Adventures equipment and $30 if bringing your own equipment.  Additional fundraising is encouraged.

Prizes will be awarded for top fundraisers, best costumes, and breast cancer trivia.

The post paddle party will run from 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM featuring live music by Troy Mawyer, J&J's Brick Oven Pizza, delicacies by Baked Desserts, and a gift auction with great prizes from local business including a Hall of Fame football signed by Ravens Hall of Fammer Jonathan Ogden.

Special thanks to this year's premier sponsor The Church Mouse on Main Street Berlin and to 5 time sponsor Vicki Harmon, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.
