2013 Final Medicare Fee Schedule Rule has been released

The rule includes a 25.6 percent reduction that will take place on Jan. 1, 2013, unless Congress acts to stop it. The CMS announcement can be found here and the complete rule can be found here.

CMS presents EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation webinar

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Regions VI, VII, and VIII will present a webinar on Wednesday, Dec. 5 on how your practice/facility can successfully register and attest to meaningful use and qualify for an Electronic Health Record (EHR) incentive payment. Penalties begin in 2015 for Medicare Eligible Professionals (EPs), subsection (d) hospitals, and Critical Access Hospitals who are not meaningful users of EHRs.

 

The webinar consists of two parts. Part One is a pre-recorded presentation that you can view at your convenience prior to Dec. 5. Part Two is a live webinar that will include:

  • Information from the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) on how Regional Extension Centers (RECs) can assist you,
  • Information from the EHR Information Center on how they can answer your EHR questions, and
  • An opportunity for you to ask CMS experts your registration/attestation questions.
