they visit the Pasadena Museum of California Art.


They learn about the role & function of a Sofer,

they study the Mishna , and create scale models.  
They learn how to classify seeds using the dichotomous key,


and they use the
Scientific Method.

Not only is this college application season, it is the year that our inaugural middle school 8th grade graduates are now applying to the many and varied colleges of their choice.  We wish them all the best of luck and anxiously await the news of their acceptances! 
November Mitzvah Project
Only one more week to go!
Please place your donations of blankets, socks, coats, clothes, and personal grooming items in the bin, on the yard. Contributions will be given to Union Station for their family support programs.  We will also be preparing sandwiches and lunch bags on Wednesday, November 25, as part of our Thanksgiving program.  Watch for teacher notes with details.

 It is recruitment season once again, so spread the word!
Note new Open House dates!

Shabbat Slumbers and Awakenings begins again,
 for the third consecutive year,
at Temple Beth Israel, Highland Park/Eagle Rock.
Next Friday, 11/27, 7:30 pm.
Activities include youth led services, oneg, post oneg activities.
(Bring sleeping bag, pillow, toothbrush, toothpaste, snack/breakfast items.)
Adults are needed to support the event.

Pressman Academy and Harkham Hillel are co-hosting 
Janelle Burley Hoffman, the author of iRules
on November 30, 7:00 pm, at Temple Beth Am. 
The event is open to the community. 
We are asking for a $5 donation/family.
Hoffman is a fabulous resource for parents on how to 
set appropriate limits and boundaries with technology.
