They study the Mishna on Sukkot and use DBL
(design based learning) to create scale models according to the rules.  

They learn how to classify seeds using the dichotomous key,


and they conduct tests using the
Scientific Method.

Join us for an hour of PJ's, cookies, and stories 
on Tuesday, 10/27, 6-7 pm!
(Teachers will select books from the Book Fair to read out loud!)

Volunteers are still needed for a couple of shifts - please contact Carrie or Jen C. if you have some time to spare!

Alumni In Action...
Rhiannon L., now a sophomore at LACHSA (L.A. County High School for the Arts) will be performing in an Opera Workshop show, "Secret Garden" on Thursday and Friday, 11/12 & 11/13, at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles.  The musical is most appropriate for 6th grade and up.  See flier below for ticket information.  Break a leg, Rhiannon!
October Mitzvah Project
This month's community mitzvah project is collecting new and gently used books to be donated through the National Council of Jewish Women.  Both children's and adult's books are accepted.  Please go through your shelves, or pick up an extra book when at the book fair, and bring them to your child's classroom for donation.

October 23-29 - Book Fair - Hours vary by day - Galpert Social Hall

October 27 - PJ's, cookies, and stories - 6:00-7:00 pm - Rooms 1-3

October 28 - Camp Ramah presentation - 2nd-4th, 11:00 am, room 4 and 5th-8th, 11:30 am, room 5

October 28 - Souplantation Dinner Fundraiser - 5:00-8:00 pm
