Middle School Wednesday WEEL

The first WEEL activity kept students on campus,

making new friends,

making new discoveries,

and visiting with staff!

Third grade engineers show off their skills

with the
Marshmallow Challenge,

a STEAM
(Science, Technology, Art, Engineering, Math)
activity,

on the first day of school!

(Teachers did the same activity during Orientation Week and only 2 groups were successful with creating freestanding structures, unlike the 3rd graders, where every group was successful.)

Tekiah Gedolah!

It is going to be a great day!
Did You Know Weizmann Has A YELP Page?
One of the most significant marketing tools we have is US, and one of the most effective ways of advertising Weizmann is through word of mouth.  With that in mind, we invite you to participate in a little contest.

Have you and your family had an incredible experience at WDS? Do you like to win prizes? We would appreciate you sharing your stories with others who may be interested in attending WDS. Please leave us a review on Yelp. Be part of the first minyan of 10 people to leave us a Yelp review. After we receive 10 Yelp reviews, one lucky reviewer will win a limited edition WDS blanket. Thank You and Good Luck!

Board Business...
We would like to welcome all the new and returning parents and children to the excitement of a new school year!  It was great to see the kids ready and eager for school on the first day. A big thank you to all the teachers and staff who worked feverishly to make sure everything was ready to kick off the new year. Also, a big thank you to all the parents and benefactors who make the school possible. The mission of Weizmann Day School is to deliver an academically challenging and comprehensive education built on a foundation of Jewish traditions and values. The Board of Trustees is proud to play its part in helping to fulfill that mission. Please look for your board members at school events or feel free to contact us at board@weizmann.net. Our first board meeting of the year will be September 8, at 7:30 pm. We will be focusing on goal setting for the year and development opportunities. Parents are welcome to attend board meetings yet we do ask that you let the office know if you are planning on coming, so the office can confirm the time and place of the meeting.

Shabbat Shalom and Happy Labor Day,
Your WDS Board of Trustees

PTO Makes It Happen...
With active committees and support from our parent body, PTO can make many things happen for our kids!  At the Welcome Back Coffee on Wednesday morning, we introduced the chairs of the following committees:
  • School Events Coordinators: Penina Segall-Guiterrez & Doris Segall
  • Family Dinner Organizers: Erinn Levin & Ale Kiguelman
  • Fundraiser Coordinators: Danya Berman, Stacie Sulak, Jennifer Murdoca & Claudine Kilson
  • Parent Party Organizers: Amaya Cervino & Rebeccah Keating
  • Teacher Appreciation Coordinator: Colette Caggiano
  • Gift Card and Online Fundraiser Coordinator: Paul Asimow
  • Book Fair Organizer: Jennifer Cohen
  • Aesthetics Committee: Jennifer Marcus & Noah Golden-Krasner
  • Landscape Coordinator: Shawn Paper
They all would welcome help, and it is a great way to earn your 20 hours of volunteer service that is expected of all Weizmann families.  Please contact the chair people directly, or notify Heather, PTO Chair, if you have a specific area of interest.
Also, watch for Jen and the 5th graders who will be selling apples and honey gift packs, before school, very soon!
