Yom Yerushalyim
Yom Yerushalyim is the most recent addition to the Hebrew calendar.  It commemorates the reunification of Jerusalem and the establishment of Israeli control over the Old City in June 1967.  Weizmann Day School students celebrate Yom Yerushalyim in a multitude of ways.

The students and staff sing Hatikvah on the yard,
led beautifully by fifth grade students Adam and Leon.

The second grade class created an artistic version of the Israeli emblem.

The fifth grade students eating lunch on the steps of the California
Science Center, waiting to see the Imax presentation of 3D Jerusalem.

Yael (K), Amit (1st grade), and Karen (8th grade)
showing off their Israeli sass!

Jewish Day School + Jewish Camp = Jewish Life Year-Round
Next to Jewish Day School, attending Jewish summer camp is one of the most integral ways that young people will strengthen their Jewish identity.  It is believed by some that day school is where students learn Jewishly, and camp is where they live it.

(Pictured below are Weizmann students sharing the camp experience
at the Jewish Federation's Shabbaton weekend, 2015.)

Camp Ramah in California is delighted to share that it has received a grant to provide scholarship funding for first-time campers from smaller Jewish communities. Weizmann Day School qualifies for this generous funding and was selected to partner with Ramah, who is offering $2,500 toward a 4-week program and $1,500 for the Gesher 2-week program.  One Happy Camper will provide additional funding for first-time campers, so do not hesitate - sign up for camp today! Visit www.ramah.org for further information or to complete an application.
Adult Art Class
Mrs. Dinerman shared her artistic talents and her love of teaching with the adults in our community by offering an Adult Art Class - Mosaics, which was sponsored by Weizmann Day School.  Below is a picture of two of her students, along with their Mosaic art pieces.
