As part of the WEEL (Weizmann Expeditionary, Experiential Learning) program...  

middle schoolers prepare for the Science Fair!



The reach the falls in Eaton Canyon for 
Tu B'Shevat,

 and representatives present a mural at a local elementary school.
 Students and teachers enjoy lunch together.
5th grade joins middle school WEEL at LACMA.

The middle school takes a hike at Eaton Canyon!

They work with New Horizon School and Peace and Justice Academy to paint enormous murals...

 and they make new friends in the process! 


WEEL on Campus

 Question:  Will everyone enjoy the 2015 Science Fair?

          

Hypothesis:  From my experience, I would say YES.

              

     

Conclusion:  The Science Fair this year was amazing!

We are on our way to reaching our goal of 100% participation from all Weizmann stakeholders.  Donations to date include:
Board of Trustees - 100%            Teachers and Staff - 73%
Kindergarten Families - 73%        First Grade Families - 45%
Second Grade Families - 64%     Third Grade Families - 50%
Fourth Grade Families - 50%       Fifth Grade Families - 67%
Sixth Grade Families - 60%         Seventh Grade Families - 50%

Did you know...
that among the judges for this year's science fair were a NASA Astronomer, JPL Scientist, and a Neurology Specialist?

that PTO is still in need of a few dads to help with the Purim play?  

that 4th & 5th grades sold lemonade at the Science Fair and raised over $80 - some of which will be used to support garden projects and some will be donated for tzedakah?

that we need you to join us when our students help lead the Family Shabbat service at Temple Sinai of Glendale on February 20, 7:00 pm? 

that the middle school will be hosting a special 5th grade open house and Medieval Feast on February 25, 9:00-10:25 am? 

that this year's Shakespeare performance, The Tempest, is on Wednesday, March 18?

that the February Community Mitzvah Project is collecting coins to help purchase and plant trees in Israel?

February 26 - 1st-5th grades to Natural History Museum - 8:45 am-3:00 pm
PTO News
Volunteers are needed to help with the upcoming family Purim fundraiser which includes a dessert social, silent auction, and live performance by the Weizmann dads in the hilarious rootin, tootin, shootin Purimspiel, Esther Western.  Save the date - MARCH 14 - and join us on Saturday evening (after Shabbat), starting at 7:45 pm.
