As part of the WEEL (Weizmann Expeditionary, Experiential Learning) program...  

middle school reaches the falls in Eaton Canyon for Tu B'Shevat

 and representatives present a mural at a local elementary school.
 Students and teachers enjoy lunch together.



5th grade joins middle school WEEL at LACMA.

We are on our way to reaching our goal of 100% participation from all Weizmann stakeholders.  Donations to date include:

Did you know...
that the Science Fair, 2/11, is less than 1 week away? 

that PTO is really looking for dads really interested in performing in the really funny Purim Play?  

that our middle school students have the opportunity to join peers from New Horizon and PAJA in this term's intra-mural sport, basketball?  It is open to boys and girls!

that 4th grade will be selling lemonade (with lemons from our garden) stand at the Science Fair?

that we will be participating in, and helping lead, the Family Shabbat service at Temple Sinai of Glendale on February 20, 7:00 pm? 

that this year's Shakespeare performance, The Tempest, is on Wednesday, March 18?

that the February Community Mitzvah Project is collecting coins to help purchase and plant trees in Israel?

PTO News
Volunteers are needed to help with the upcoming family Purim fundraiser which includes a dessert social, silent auction, and live performance by the Weizmann dads in the hilarious rootin, tootin, shootin Purimspiel, Esther Western.  Save the date - MARCH 14 - and join us on Saturday evening (after Shabbat), starting at 7:45 pm.

In honor of Tu'BShevat, the birthday of the trees, we are trying a new catalog fundraiser called Flower Power Fundraising. Catalogs and order forms were sent home with your kids yesterday (one per family...youngest child should have it). PTO will be earmarking the money for school beautification and gardening projects.
Flower Power offers top-quality flower bulbs that come with a 100% money-back guarantee.  All orders are shipped directly to your home with a flat $5 shipping charge. (Since there are no kid prizes, maybe team up with a classmate and split the shipping charge?) We get to keep 50% of every dollar sold!   The fundraiser ends March 4.  Orders should be received by mid April.
