Dear Weizmann Families -

Getting a little tired of Wintertime Musak everywhere you go?? Come join me on Sunday, December 14th at 3:00 pm for the Jewish Federation's "Festival of Jewish Music." Weizmann students will be presenting two songs from our recent Thanksgiving Concert and will then be joining area cantors in leading a sing-along of Hanukkah songs. We will also get to hear a performance by our friends in the Jewish Youth Orchestra, including our own Damien Knight and Ezra Axel!

This year, the event will be held at Temple Beth Israel of Pomona, 3033 N. Towne Ave, in Pomona.

Plan to arrive a little early to view the art show, and then let's find a place to have dinner together afterwards.  Free music festival entrance for students wearing their Weizmann shirts!

Thank you, and I look forward to singing and eating together on Sunday, 12/14.

Shabbat Shalom,

Cantor Bat-Sarah

Did you know...

that the next middle school WEEL activity will take place on Monday, 12/8, when the 5th graders join them to see Japanese Armor and battle gear at LACMA?

that Dr. Jocelyn Levitan will be meeting with the middle school on Tuesday, 12/9, at 1:30 pm, to bring to the students a similar training she provided our parents and teachers on "identifying and preventing mean behaviors"?

that the Parent Connection reading program for kindergarten-2nd grade will begin again this month?

that 60 middle-schoolers from New Horizon School, Weizmann Day School, and the Peace & Justice Academy joined forces with a muralist to paint two enormous canvas murals in support of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) learning in our local elementary schools?

that your participation in the Chuck E. Cheese family dinner fundraiser helped to raise $170.70?

that the middle school, as part of their WEEL program, descended upon the prestigious campus of Caltech to tour the facility and meet with scientists in their labs?

that the December Kehillah community service project, in collaboration with B'nai Simcha pre-school, is collecting toys for local children in need?  Please help us brighten the holidays for others by bringing a new, unwrapped toy into the office - the toys will be distributed through Foothill Family Services.
