Special Announcement - - Concert Invitation!

Sweeter than sufganiyot, warmer than latkes, as nourishing as turkey!

Please join us for our annual Thanksgiving Concert on Wednesday, November 27th at 11:30 am in Galpert Sanctuary. This year the program is devoted entirely to Hanukkah music; some old, some new, and all of it lots of fun. We would especially like to welcome Weizmann alumni to the stage, along with staff, for the traditional final Thanksgiving song. There will be a brief reception following the concert, prior to early (12:15 pm) dismissal. We cannot wait to see you all - family and friends included!

(See the beautiful flier below for additional information.)

ALSO, remember to pick up your pre-ordered sufganiyot on Wednesday, 11/27.  There will also be a limited amount of extras on hand for sale that day.

Did you know...

that kindergarten and first grade will be making sack lunches to be delivered to the homeless on Skid Row the day after Thanksgiving, and that you can help?  They are collecting items that can be included in the lunches, such as, apples, oranges, and granola bars.  In addition to food items, they are also collecting gently used blankets, jackets, clothing, etc. that can be passed on to those that are less fortunate.  You can bring any donations to the office or give them to Mrs. Nakano on the yard.  If you are bringing in fresh fruit, please wait until the week of Thanksgiving to bring it in.

that the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes completed the Patchwork of Cultures Education Program, sponsored by the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony?  They will also get to join the audience at a special concert with other L.A. area student participants on December 3, 10 am to 1 pm, at Valley Beth Shalom, in Encino.

that the 5th - 8th grade students were treated to a special presentation by Dr. Neil S. (Nathan's dad) as part of their Science Lecture Series?  An audiology research professor at USC, Dr. Neil spoke about the ear and how it works, and about hearing loss.
