Lisa's Lines
| On Tuesday we celebrated the 138th birthday of our namesake, Chaim Weizmann. Although originally the B'nai Simcha Community Day School, in the early 90's we changed our name to Chaim Weizmann Community Day School and by the end of the decade we were called Weizmann Day School. The move to naming our school in honor of Israel's first president, and world renowned scientist, was made to reflect the values of intellectual curiosity, a passion for Israel and the quest for diplomacy and tolerance. We are proud to share the name with the Weizmann Institute in Israel, the only other educational institution named for this remarkable statesman.
In preparation of our yearly recognition the middle school students learned background information about Weizmann and shared it with the full student body at morning greeting on the yard. Attached is a copy of the information for your reference. Chaim Weizmann Information
Shabbat Shalom, Lisa
