Sometimes life is orderly.

Most times it's not.

I was thinking this morning that sameness, no matter how wonderful it might be, would be the undoing of us all if each day were exactly like the one before it. We would eventually come to dread the sameness as much as we now often loathe the uncertainty of new things and of change.

Even though we know this, we run from variance as though it were a rabid bat---funny little creatures that we are :-)

I have had such a month--one that's been a bit disorderly.
One could liken it to a giant "miscellaneous file", filled with things that aren't big enough to warrant their own file and yet different enough to not fit in with anything else.

Between a "Meet Dreama" video (below), putting together a calendar (also below), seeing my Sis sing in Nashville (clip of her singing here), creating a website for the same Sis, a road trip to see Oprah -- which involved me driving in DC traffic (a whole OTHER story), and deciding that it was time to do spring/fall cleaning at home-- I WAS REMINDED

how good change is for us. How it picks us up by the ankles and shakes us just a little to let us know we are indeed ALIVE.

Doesn't nature teach us that so very well?

Without the the changing from summer to fall, I'd never get to see the backyard gold that exists right...in my own backyard!

If you've been afraid--letting words like "new", "change", and "different" hold you back--just look outside and see what letting go and change and new and different really look like.

Not to shabby, eh?

Being unraveled, out of sorts and out of order can be the beginning of something even more awesome in your life (even the scary parts because we learn and grow from them).

May you have a very MISCELLANEOUS season filled with wondrous unravellings, unplanned delights and a downright sense of awe inspiring adventure.

You deserve nothing less :-)

It is with great care and wisdom that words must be chosen. We speak things into existence--JOY, hope, peace--and in doing so, we are ultimately sowing that which we will eventually reap.

I, you, we contain within us so much power for good and all with the eloquence of one simple thing.

Fun Fall Workshops in Lexington!

The longer I teach, the more exposed I am to the beauty in people. Each face, each spirit, each heart that I encounter shapes me, tenderizes me and makes me a bit more vulnerable.

Kentucky in the fall is gorgeous and it got even more beautiful with all the artists who came to paint with me---from California (Nancy!) to Australia (Ivanka!) and lots more in between--thanks to each of you who made the journey and brought your full heart to the moment---you make me SMILE :-)!!
