It's Joyful June!

A Few Words...

Hello Audacious, Bodacious, Joyful You!

June is here.
France is there.
Cats are plotting...

Eddie with Passport
...holy moly, please tell me that's not an international driver's license he has in his paw!

Okay, we're just going to pretend we did NOT see that.

Anyway, it's time to lay in your croissants, special cheeses, wines from the Bordeaux region and chocolates in preparation for the armchair trip of a lifetime.

Between the chocolate highs, buttered lips and caffeine buzzes we should have a smashing good time.
And I am going to make sure you are so inspired to do your own watercolor journal that you can't stand it:))
More on that later.

Other than a couple of workshops in Whidbey Island, WA (see below) and a five day workshop starting this Wednesday and flying out on the following Monday to France, not much is happening here in Paris.
Okay, I'm lying.
It looks like a version of chimps gone wild with me trying to pack  up all the stuff I'll need for 17 days in France. Banana anyone??

It's gonna be an awesome June.  I am so happy that you are along for the ride!!!

You Know I Love You!!

Hugs:)

My Favorite Glasses

MAGGIE GOES HOLLYWOOD
Maggie Goes Hollywood

Do you need glasses?

I do.

Driving, reading, and sunny days all find me sporting a well-worn pair.

However...

I also have an invisible pair which I wear A LOT!
They are my very favorite glasses---ones that I sometimes forget I own (can you believe that??)

They are my "What Moves Me Towards JOY" glasses:)

As a day becomes crowded with stuff that ALL seems to need to be done at the same time, discerning which is REAL (and thus matters in the bigger picture) and which is only an illusion (and will add nothing to our life when it's all said and done) it becomes apparent.... corrective eyewear is needed;))!

Much like playing "hot or cold" (remember that one from your childhood?), when one is  wearing the "what moves me towards JOY" glasses it gets much easier to pick the right path.

(For instance...is the next fork in the road/thing on your agenda moving you closer or farther away from JOY?

Looking through my "what brings me JOY" glasses into the maze of things surrounding me  has truly helped me  make better choices---the very things that when I am not wearing them is so hard to see---everything seems equally important when I don't have my "glasses" on:)))

That is where my happy watercolor journal (click here to have a peek) was born---from looking at what would bring me JOY.  It wasn't what necessarily made sense or was a practical use of my time.  It WAS what moved me towards JOY.

"Joy is to fun what the deep sea is to a puddle. It's a feeling inside that can hardly be contained."
                                                                                                                   ~Terry Pratchett

"Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and choose it everyday."

                                                                                                                    ~Henri Nouwen

Today, do that thing that moves you towards JOY.

P.S. If you need "lessons" just observe a child. They unconsciously move towards JOY every minute of every day---no corrective eyewear needed;))

Begin to see with the eye behind the eye
Hear with the ear behind the ear
Feel with the heart behind the heart
So you can see the invisible
Hear the inaudible
Do the impossible
