American military heroes will not only get special recognition during the two-day "Veterans Day Salute: A Celebration of Service" coming up Nov. 10-11 at Fantasy of Flight, but some who have fascinating personal stories will share those amazing accounts during a weekend of living history.
Thrilling Veterans Day Salute weekend features:
- Special tours of facilities, including all day access to Golden Hill
- Multiple demonstrations of legendary warrior aircraft throughout the day -- all flown by Fantasy of Flight founder Kermit Weeks.
- Encore presentations by remarkable heroes of "Legends & Legacies" PLUS meet-and-greet autograph sessions
- Unforgettable high-flying tribute to the Stars and Stripes
- Special heart-warming tribute to the "Spirit of the Fighter" by Fantasy of Flight's own Dash McCloud
- R/C aircraft demonstrations (Sunday only)
- Try your hand at riveting with Rosie. Plus -- on Sunday -- meet a veteran Rosie who crafted B-24 Liberators!
Fantasy of Flight is offering free admission both days to all veterans with valid military ID, while the special Veterans Day Salute festivities are included with regular admission for the general public and for annual pass holders. |
Fantasy of Flight Partners with
Pilots for Kids to Lift Spirits
On November 30, Gee Bee Zee and his pals will give a special lift to hundreds of hospitalized children. Fantasy of Flight founder Kermit Weeks has donated 500 copies of his award-winning children's book All of Life is a School, to be distributed by a wonderful group of benevolent aviators called Pilots for Kids (PFK).
According to the PFK website, "Pilots For Kids members include major, national and regional airline crewmembers, corporate, military and private pilots along with aviation enthusiasts. The uniformed crewmembers meet at the children's facilities with their arms full of toys and goodies for the kids. The delight in the children's eyes cannot be explained in words as they see the pilots and flight attendants, wearing their stripes and wings, coming down the hallways to visit them. "
We think All of Life is a School should bring a smile to their faces. Watch this space next month for photos!
