| TRADING SWEETS FOR BROCCOLI | |
Local Y kids Caroline and Tom Neal were recently featured in the Y's regional IMPACT magazine. Their dedication to living healthy through a program called 5210 caught the attention of the Y's marketing team, and their story has been shared with thousands of Y members all across Virginia's peninsulas and at the Peninsula
Metropolitan YMCA's Annual Dinner for their dedication to living healthy and 5210.
The program is named for its simple approach to making healthy choices on a daily basis. Keeping these daily goals in mind, you can live a healthier life.
5 - Eat five fruits or vegetables
2 - Have two hours or less of screen time
1 - Commit to one hour of play or physical activity
0 - Consume zero sugary drinks
Thanks to Tom, Caroline and their parents Dawn and Chris Neale for letting us share their story.

| SPRING CLEANING - WE COULD USE A HELPING HAND | |
|
Help your Y get ready for the summer. Inside and out every building needs a little TLC now and then, and what better time than spring! On April 20th starting at 8am we could use your help. We'll be tidying up flower beds, touching up paint, power washing side walks, and getting the pool ready for summer.
We've assembled a to-do list at the Welcome Desk. Stop by to see exactly where help is needed and sign up. Have landscaping plant knowledge? We could use you. Have a pressure washer? We could use you. Like to paint? We could use you. Lunch will be provided! Come on out and give your Y a helping hand with a little spring cleaning. Call the Y at 580-8901 for more details or to sign up by phone. |
| PLEASE TELL US WHAT YOU THINK | |
|
It's your Y! And we want to know what you think. We just sent an email survey seeking your feedback. The results of the survey will be used to improve our service, program offerings and operations. Everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a drawing to win one free month of membership. Please look for the survey and plan to participate - we want to know your opinions!
Thanks. We look forward to your responses. We look forward to making your Y a better place for your spirit, mind and body.

| RED, WHITE & BLUE TOURNAMENT SCHEDULED | |
The Y is hosting a Red,White & Blue Doubles Pickleball Tournament this May. "We're hoping to make this an annual event." says Program Director Jonathan Frith. The event will host a women's tournament on the 2nd, a men's on the 3rd and a mixed double's on the 4th.
The entry fee is $15 per player and all proceeds will benefit the Y's Guardian Scholarship Program. "Last summer the scholarship program provided $15,000 in assistance to ensure every child who wanted to come to camp could afford to." Said Frith. "The tournament will be a blast, and we're expecting it will be able to sponsor at least 10 campers."
Want to get signed up or just want to help sponsor a camp kid? Stop by the Welcome Desk or call the Y at 580-8901.

| SPECIAL THANKS | |
Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith are a part of every Y program.
Thanks to Steve Trice we proudly display our values every day for all Y members and guests. We received comments like this moments after he finished. "It just makes me feel that much more at home."
We couldn't agree more.
