Characteristics of A Live Church

Live churches are constantly changing.
Dead churches don't have to.
Live churches have lots of noisy kids.
Dead churches are fairly quiet.
Live churches expenses always exceed their income.
Dead churches take in more than they
ever dreamed of spending.
Live churches are constantly improving for the future.
Dead churches worship their past.
Live churches move out in faith.
Dead churches operate
totally by human sight.
Live churches focus on people.
Dead churches focus on programs.
Live churches are filled with tithers.
Dead churches are filled with tippers.
Live churches dream great dreams of God.
Dead churches relive nightmares.
Live churches don't have "can't" in their dictionary.
Dead churches have nothing but.
Live churches evangelize.
Dead churches fossilize.

Under His grace,

Steve

These talented youngsters are in the final grueling stages of prepping for a Soul Desire mini-tour in Mississippi June 17-21. They will sing two mall concerts and two church concerts before collapsing for a day of R&R at Pensacola Beach. Locally, they will be appearing at St. John United Methodist Church in Florence, June 12 at 6 p.m. and wrapping things up here at Woodmont with a final "homecoming" concert Sunday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m. If you've ever been to a Soul Desire concert, you know that it is a meaningful and worshipful event. If you haven't, for goodness' sake, mark your calendar now! We'd love it if you'd make plans to come, and we'd love it even more if you'd invite someone else to come with you! (We do concerts better when the house is packed!) But most of all, please partner with this group in prayer as they carry the life-changing message of Christ through songs and their own personal testimonies. Pictured, left to right--Girls: Khloe Hendrix, Emma Hendrix, Adaley Burnett, Caroline Niedergeses, Milly Lopez; Guys: Jonathan Vince, Mitchell Rowland, Clayton Sumner, and Jacob Bradley. Adults: Jason and Mary Lee Staggs, Corinne and Kevin Reese. Thanks so much, church, for your support of this ministry. I can tell you as an eye-witness that you can be very proud of these troubadour/ambassadors. For eleven years, they have capably and admirably represented our church and our Savior in many different venues all around the country. And this year? Well, we're gonna rock the South, y'all.

In April we had our first fundraiser for our upcoming mission trip to Costa Rica. We did an envelope fundraiser as a way to give everyone an opportunity to help us out however they felt led. We sat up 3 tables out in front of the worship center and had envelopes numbered 1-200. You would pick up whatever envelope you felt led to, and all we ask was that you match the number on the envelope with that dollar amount. I think this was well received throughout the church. We want to thank everyone that helped us out. To date we have a little over $10,000 from this fundraiser. I have been asked the question several times, "Can we still give to the mission trip?" "Yes you can!" We will be taking donations up until we leave. There is also another fundraiser coming up on June 18th @ 7  PM. "Coast to the Finish" is a 5K glow stick & 1 Mile fun run. After the run there will be a hot dog supper and a free movie. Please come and join us even if you don't plan to run.

April 20-24 the college group "2 or More" was blessed with the opportunity to go to Flint, Michigan and serve on a mini mission trip. We wanted to go do something for a community that was hurting. We couldn't think of a better place than Flint. I had the opportunity to serve alongside 6 amazing college students and we had the greatest time. It was awesome to see how people smiled just from handing out water and showing interest in their lives. We were impacted by the kindness and generosity the people of Flint continued to show us. It was truly a blessing being there and getting to work alongside different groups from Michigan.
