A Word from the Interim Pastor

Dear Church Family,

Time flies when you are having fun. I have been your interim pastor for twenty weeks, and it seems like yesterday that I preached in your great church for the first time. I'm sure it seems like twenty years for you. But for me, it seems like a brief time of great joy. I want to share with you a few of my observations about Woodmont.

You are truly a faithful people. The measurement of a person's faith is easily found in the faithfulness of the person. I give you five stars for your faithfulness.

You have been blessed with great staff. To a person they exhibit a genuine passion for the Lord. I hope you know what you have in your staff.

You are blessed with an abundance of spiritual leaders. No church can achieve what you have accomplished without them.

You are a people with a great future in your ministry to the Lord. I truly believe your best days are ahead of you.

I am excited about what God is going to do in you and for you. I am excited about who God is going to lead to Woodmont as your new pastor. I am excited about those who will be saved, and those who will be dedicated servants. To be honest, I am just excited. Please join me.

I love you,

Tom Whatley

Thompson's Text

In a few weeks, spring will be upon us. For many that is a time to start thinking and working on planting a garden. Careful preparation and work is needed to ensure that the planted seeds will grow, and mature, and reap a good harvest. Gardening is important at church as well for our fellowship to grow and thrive. The following poem is very insightful. It is titled:

A Church Garden:

Three Rows of Squash
1. Squash indifference.
2. Squash criticism.
3. Squash gossip.

Four Rows of Turnips
1. Turn up for meetings.
2. Turn up with a smile.
3. Turn up with a visitor.
4. Turn up with a Bible.

Five Rows of Lettuce
1. Let us love one another.
2. Let us welcome strangers.
3. Let us be faithful in duty.
4. Let us truly worship God.
5. Let us give liberally.

Following these guidelines ensures a strong, healthy, growing, and fruitful church!

Under His Grace,

Steve

The Woodmont Choir & Orchestra will present a concert of Easter music we're calling "Alive...Because He Lives!" on PALM SUNDAY, MARCH 20, in the 10:15 a.m. worship service. Because of the way spring break falls this year, Easter Sunday just didn't seem to be the best option. So, we hope you will join us one week before Resurrection Day, as we celebrate a cross that's bare and a tomb that's empty! The songs will serve as a powerful reminder that Jesus' love paid the supreme sacrifice for us all and that we are alive because He lives. Bring someone with you!

By the time you read this, another Café Hosanna will have come and gone, so I want to thank you in advance for supporting our youth choir. We in the music ministry love what we do, but the joy of our efforts would be terribly diminished if we were unable to share them with you.

See ya Sunday!
