Dickinson ISD closed the week of November 24-28 for Thanksgiving


All Dickinson ISD schools and offices will be closed the week of November 24-28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Staff and students will return on Monday, December 1. We wish all of our Gator families a safe and enjoyable holiday week.  




Gators claim Bi-District Championship

with 49-7 win against Alief Taylor


The Gators varsity football team is on to round two of the UIL football playoffs following their 49-7 win against Alief Taylor High School this past Friday night. The win gives the Gators a 11-0 record and Bi-District Champion title.

For round two, the Gators are ready to meet Pearland High School in a 7 p.m. Friday, November 21 game to be played at Deer Park ISD's Abshier Stadium, 710 West San Augustine in Deer Park. Dickinson will be the home team and will be seated on the home side of the stadium (west side). Dickinson fans are encouraged to park on the west side.

Tickets will be on sale 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-12 noon Friday. Pre-sale tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students. All tickets bought at the gate Friday night are $10 each.

If the Gators move on to round three, the game will be played the weekend following Thanksgiving on Saturday, November 29. The school district will be closed the week of Thanksgiving; however, watch for a special football edition of Gator Bytes with game information and special pre-sale ticket times.

Dickinson High School senior Bailee Berringer recently received scholarships and signed papers to play college volleyball starting this fall at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi. She is pictured with DHS volleyball coaches Mitzi Matthews and Kari Farias and her parents (in the middle) Lee and Aurdria Berringer. Congratulations Bailee! 

Dickinson ISD's Thanksgiving Lunch Celebration
Approximately 12,000 meals were served Friday as parents, grandparents and other guests joined students for the district's annual Thanksgiving Lunch Celebration. Students and their guests enjoyed traditional Thanksgiving treats as they looked forwarded to the upcoming Thanksgiving week holiday.

Project Speak Up
Join the 3.4 million students, parents, teachers, community members and administrators who have participated in Project Speak Up to see how online learning is changing the classroom paradigm within schools.

Dickinson ISD is encouraging all schools to participate in the annual Speak Up National Research Project, which provides participating schools, district and non-profit organizations with a suite to online surveys and reports to collect authentic feedback from stakeholders on important education issues. Input from students, parents, teachers, administrators and community members will help the district create a vision for 21st century learning for our students. Survey results will be made available to educational leaders at the state and national level as well as the school district.
