 | Ryan Boone |
Boone promoted to Deputy Superintendent
In preparation for the new school year, Superintendent Vicki Mims has announced several administrative leadership changes to take effect July 1. Ryan Boone, current Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations, will assume the position of Deputy Superintendent for Business and Operations. As student enrollment in the district continues to climb, so have the demands of support services especially in the areas of business services, technology and operating a growing number of school facilities. Boone has 21 years experience in managing school district business and operations areas. Having first served in Santa Fe ISD, he came to Dickinson ISD in 2008 as Assistant Superintendent for Operations and Facilities and in 2011 added additional responsibilities over Business Services due to restructuring and budget cuts. Boone is a Certified Public Accountant with several years of experience before moving into school district administration. |
Three Dickinson ISD administrators moving to Executive Director positions
With the promotion of Ryan Boone to Deputy Superintendent, three directors reporting to him will now assume additional responsibilities on July 1 as Executive Directors. They are Kelly Logsdon, Executive Director for Business Operations; Dr. Melissa Williams, Executive Director for Information Systems; and Leslie Hudson, Executive Director for Payroll.
"Business Services and the Technology Department are critical support areas for our school district," said Superintendent Vicki Mims. "Kelly Logsdon and Leslie Hudson have responsibility to help prepare and oversee a budget of $72 million with payroll for more than 1,300 employees. Dr. Melissa Williams helps oversee the daily needs of providing the technological infrastructure, software and needed support for employees as well as almost 10,000 students. This is a critical area for our school district, as more of what we are required to provide students is technology-based," added Mims.
Kelly Logsdon has been with Dickinson ISD for eight years, serving as Junior Accountant and Accountant before moving into the Director of Business Operations position. She is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelors in Accounting.
Dr. Melissa Williams has 22 years experience working in education, including the past 13 years in Dickinson ISD. While in DISD, she has served as an Assistant Principal at Dickinson High School and Principal at K.E. Little Elementary before moving into the Director of Information Systems position. She holds three degrees from the University of Houston - Clear Lake, including a Bachelors in Media Studies and Public Relations, a Masters in Administration and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Leslie Hudson has served Dickinson ISD for 16 years in the Business Services Department. She has moved up through the department as Accounting Assistant, Junior Accountant, Senior Accountant and currently Director of Payroll. She earned her Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Houston.
