Dickinson ISD administrators are keeping a close eye on weather forecasts, which as of today are showing the possibility of rain, sleet and icy conditions for southeast Texas in the early morning hours of Friday, January 24. Forecasters are unsure at this time if the worst conditions will get as far south as Galveston County.

  

Any call to have a late arrival day or to cancel school will likely not be made until later tonight or in the early morning hours of Friday.

  

We will post any information about possible delayed start times, school cancellations or other weather-related changes on the district website, on the Dickinson ISD Facebook, Twitter, the "Gator Bytes" email newsletter as well as with local media.

  

If the situation becomes serious enough to cancel school, students will be required to make up the day on one of the district's two designated bad weather days, which are April 18 (Good Friday) and May 26 (Memorial Day).
