New and Improved Virtual Adopt-a-thon: REGISTRATION NOW AVAILABLE!
Our Virtual Adopt-a-thon is an opportunity for the community to help us raise crucial funds, and spread the word about our homeless pets, humane education, and the great programs offered by NAHS. This year, participants will virtually adopt one of our shelter animals or programs during the month of April. Throughout the month participants will have the chance to share with your friends, family, co-workers, and social networks information about the animal or program you have virtually adopted for the month. From fun facts to hard truths, this is your chance to help educate the community about the importance of humane education and compassion for animals. We have created a new participant guide which will help participants drive attention to their adoptee, and raise crucial funds for our homeless pets and NAHS programs. Time is Running Out:Register Now to Walk or Run for NAHS
Are you a walker or runner? Do you want to help a great cause while getting some exercise with your dog? Then join NAHS for the Human Race, a 5k Run/Fitness walk and fundraiser for charities and non-profits serving DuPage County!
The race takes place on Saturday, April 26 at 9 AM in Esplanade at Locust Point in Downers Grove. All ages can participate and dogs are welcome on the fitness walk!
Be part of the NAHS team for this exciting event! We have set a goal of 100 participants raising $10,000 - that's asking 10 friends to donate $10. NAHS will use the funds raised from this event for our dog kennel renovations and to continue providing exceptional care to the dogs and cats in our community.

Animals & Us Day Camp
Only a few spaces left for our Animals & Us Day Camp this summer!
Animals & Us Day Camps teach children about animals while having fun. Subjects range from basic pet care and humane education to animal control, wildlife and potential careers in the animal welfare field. Kids enjoy games, crafts and activities covering a variety of topics.
Each camp also gives children the chance to interact with animals at the shelter. Camp is one week long and is offered during the summer.
