Member Profile: MEET AUTUMN MORNINGSTAR (NATIVE AMERICAN STORYTELLER AND MAGICIAN)
Autumn MorningStar is a professional magician and traditional storyteller. She reflects the essence and spirit of her Blackfeet and Choctaw heritage through her eloquent performances, which are presented with respect and dignity. MorningStar is one of fifty Native Americans profiled by the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian. Her story is recorded in a collection called Living Voices which is currently being broadcast on National Public Radio. Her big stage show, Shadow of the Wind, combines storytelling and sign language with the heartbeat of Native drums. The haunting melody of her Indian love flute weaves a web of mystery throughout the show. Fancydancers appear and swirl to the soulful sounds of traditional Indian songs. These cultural elements are delicately entwined with the magic of grand illusion.
