Prayer Points
*Thank you for all your prayers for Pastor Dick May.  He is undergoing chemotherapy and radiation for bone cancer.  Please continue to keep him in your prayers.

Evangelist Franklin Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association are conducting prayer rallies in all 50 states this year.  
On August 30th, the tour will make its 39th stop in Boston.

"America's attention is on this election year, but I do not believe Republicans or Democrats or any other party can turn this nation around-only God can," said Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. "God hears the prayers of his people, so we'll be calling on Christians in every state to pray fervently and faithfully for America."

Called Decision America Tour, the focus of these prayer rallies is to challenge Christians to pray for America and its leaders, and to live and promote biblical principles at home, in public and at the ballot box.

Theological Education through Seminary Extension
   Greater Boston Baptist Association

Seminary Extension is a program of Southern Baptist Convention. The head office of Seminary Extension is in Nashville, TN. Many years ago all Six SBC major seminaries in the USA jointly made the curriculum and every two years they upgrade the curriculum.

The main goal of the seminary extension is to equip lay leaders of our local churches with theological education. Many of our lay leaders are professional, educated and have an interest to serve their respective local churches but they do not have the ability to go to seminary as full time students. Seminary Extension is the good opportunity for them to equip themselves for the ministry. It is at our door now. Moreover, it is very inexpensive.

We have a Seminary Extension Center sponsored by GBBA. The name of the center is "Adult Christian Training School". Last year we started our first group with seven students from the Philippine International Church enrolled in Diploma and Certificate programs. Very soon another group will be formed.  
 
Currently our main center is in Newton. But sub-centers can be established within our Association depending upon needs, availability of teachers and students. We have four programs: Diploma of Biblical Studies, Diploma of Educational Ministries, Certificate of Christian Ministry and Certificate of Women's Ministry. All programs are in both credit and non-credit basis.
    
Anybody is interested in being equipped with theological training please don't hesitate contact me. Ministers who have the gift of teaching and want to equip their lay leaders in their respective churches and areas through seminary Extension program feel free to contact me or Eileen at our GBBA office.
