Historic Agreement: SVRA, General Racing Join Forces 
In a move to broaden the scope and quality of historic and vintage automobile racing, General Racing has merged with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA). General Racing founder Steve Earle will act as an advisor to the SVRA on the organization of its national historic and vintage events throughout the US.

MasterCraft Safety, Inc. recently announced the merger of Impact and MasterCraft Safety, Inc. to form Impact Racing, Inc. The newly created entity is part of a continuing strategy to improve manufacturing efficiencies and customer service. Impact and MasterCraft Safety products will retain their respective brands and logos. 
Industry Mourns Passing Of Safety Pioneer John Melvin 
Dr. John Melvin, a NASCAR consultant and biomedical engineer who dedicated much of his life to determining what causes injuries in race car crashes, died last month. Following a 40-year career at General Motors, Melvin was a major factor in NASCAR's focus on safety after the death of Dale Earnhardt in 2001.
