HABITAT QUAD CITIES WILL REACH A MONUMENTAL MILESTONE IN 2016!

Will you help us build the 100th Habitat home?

As Habitat for Humanity begins the 2016 build season, we have so much to be thankful for.  We have the greatest volunteers, amazing donors, and wonderful partner families.  Over the last 20 plus years of building in the Quad Cities, we have witnessed a transformation of neighborhoods and families alike.  This year, Habitat will reach a very special, and monumental, milestone as we build our 100th home in the Quad Cities.  We invite you to be part of this exciting build!

We are seeking 100 individuals to donate $1,000 each to raise the $100,000 needed to build this home.  Pledge payment plans are available.

Contact Dougal Nelson at 563-359-9066 or by email to be part of this exciting milestone build.

WHY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY?

Our newest homeowner and her children

Habitat for Humanity works alongside families to build a stronger foundation for their future.  With our help, homeowners achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to shape a better tomorrow for themselves and their families. Through Habitat's home building and other programs we are improving our community and empowering people to help themselves.

Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities has been lifting up families and community since 1993. We are now witnessing some of our very first families' children graduating from college. Many are the first ever from their families to do so.

Here are the basics:
  • Families are selected based on need, the ability to pay a mortgage and the willingness to partner.
  • Each adult household member works a minimum of 250 hours on their home and others. It's called sweat equity for a reason!
  • Families purchase their homes with a no interest mortgage, helping them to build equity, establish credit and gain financial independence.
Did you know that children of homeowners:
  • Are 25% more likely to graduate from high school
  • Are twice as likely to graduate from college
  • Are 20% less likely to become teenage mothers
  • Are 59% more likely to own a home within 10 years of moving from parent's household
