Northern Sky Theater Presents Home for the Holidays 2015
Door County's award-winning Northern Sky Theater has announced the line-up for its annual holiday concert show at the Old Gibraltar Town Hall. Now in its ninth incarnation, "Home for the Holidays" will feature the first-ever combination of three talented performers:  Doc Heide, Amy Chaffee, and Craig Konowalski. The all-new concert for 2015 will play for five performances from December 26th through December 31st.
This trio has been good friends for decades, ever since their early association with Northern Sky's predecessor troupe the Heritage Ensemble. Recently they shared the stage at last summer's moving memorial concert for Ensemble founder Dave Peterson. This merry band will warm your heart and tickle your funny bone with gorgeous folk carols, original songs, contemporary arrangements of holiday classics, and plenty of wit!

Northern Sky Theater co-founder Doc Heide has performed professionally in Door County for over four decades.  Among the 20 shows he has co-authored are the hit musicals Belgians in Heaven, Packer Fans from Outer Space, and Guys & Does. A Kerrville New Folk Finalist, Doc has recorded four CD's including the critically acclaimed Christmas in Door County (with Eric Lewis).  Doc's 2013 anniversary concert sold out the 720-seat Door Community Auditorium. According to the Door County Advocate, "Doc's songs have a way of shooting an arrow straight into your soul, from his soaring anthems to his sweet ballads."

Amy Chaffee is an accomplished actress and singer who has performed Off-Broadway, on National tour in 37 states and has had a joyous relationship with Northern Sky Theater since 1994. She has performed her one-woman shows on 3 continents and will hit two more in 2016! On screen credits include: Desperate Housewives, Prison Break, Days of Our Lives, and many independent films.  She is a professor of Voice and Speech at UCLA and off-screen has coached voice work with everyone from action stars (Bruce Willis, Charlie Hunnam) to Academy Award Winners (Ellen Burstyn and Colin Firth).

Craig Konowalski was a founding member of the Heritage Ensemble. With that troupe he performed in Japan, Taiwan, Korea and the Philippines as an entertainer for the USO. He has won national and international awards for soundtracks he's written and recorded for multi-media productions. Craig has also been a featured performer in five television specials, produced by WMVS in Milwaukee for the PBS network. His stage credits include performances as Cornelius Hackel in Hello Dolly, Noah in 110 in the Shade and The Balladeer in Assassins.
Performances of "Home for the Holidays" are scheduled for 7pm on December 26th and 4pm on December 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st. Tickets are $22 for adults and $13 for children. Advance tickets are available by calling (920) 854-6117, online at www.NorthernSkyTheater.com, or by stopping in the Northern Sky office, which is located at the Green Gables Shops in North Ephraim. All seats are General Admission. Any remaining tickets will be sold at Gibraltar Town Hall beginning 45 minutes before each performance. As a special holiday treat, each show will also feature a drawing for gift certificates from local businesses.
Northern Sky Theater is a non-profit professional theater organization that produces original musical shows in repertory from June through August. Northern Sky continues its performances into the fall with shows at the Door Community Auditorium September through October and over the Christmas holidays in local town halls.
